What is Mission?

Mission exists to fuel the extraordinary. By focusing on a natural, sustainable release of energy, we allow people to push beyond their limits. Our first range of products is a group of teas to enhance performance, aid recovery and soothe mind and body.

Who is Mission for?

Mission is for anyone looking to improve their physical or mental wellbeing. Our caffeinated teas (Energise, Perform, Hydrate, Rise and Focus), amongst other benefits, focus on providing a slow, sustainable release of energy. This makes them the perfect alternative to coffee or sugar based energy drinks. Our caffeine free blends (Recover, Calm and both Sleep blends) are filled with anti-inflammatory, adaptogen ingredients to soothe the mind and body. We will always use 100% natural, sustainable ingredients so you can focus on fuelling something extraordinary.

Which tea is for me and when should I take it?

There is plenty of guidance on our individual teas on the product pages and in the nutrition section of the site. However, in short:

  • Energise - A perfect morning coffee replacement for any time of day. Green tea provides a slow release of energy whilst cocoa nibs and beetroot increase blood flow to the brain and working muscles, helping you to feel energised without any jitters.
  • Perform - Perfect for supporting your physical and mental performance during a workout. Yerba Mate is great for sustained energy and endurance. Gotu Kola + Spearmint help to improve mental cognition.
  • Hydrate - For optimised energy and hydration levels. Matcha and Yerba Mate are used for their slow release caffeine, plus we've added natural electrolytes with Himalayan Pink Salts and Baobab.
  • Rise - For all the English Breakfast tea lovers out there. This optimised English Breakfast tea blend uses a premium Indian Assam base for its high L-theanine content. L-theanine is an amino acid that helps to slow down the absorption of caffeine, resulting in sustained energy levels and an alert state of mind, without any jitters.
  • Focus - A low-caffeine Yerba Mate tea with Peppermint + Nootropics. Focus is designed to support mental clarity and productivity without any crash.
  • Recover - For soothing mind and body. Rooibos, Lavender, Ginkgo Biloba and Ashwagandha are all effective anti-inflammatories. Ashwagandha is a powerful adaptogen, which contributes towards reducing levels of stress hormones in the bloodstream, and supporting your body's natural muscle repair.
  • Calm - Rooibos and Ashwagandha serve as the base for our Calm blend. Designed to decrease stress and promote relaxation whenever you need it.
  • Sleep Powder - Designed to improve your sleep quality by reducing inflammation and also helping to lower the levels of stress hormones in your body. The ingredients also help to promote calmness as well as support immunity. Whisk in hot water, or as a hot latte with your milk of choice.
  • Sleep Teabags - Chamomile and linden blossom provide anti-inflammatory and anxiety-reducing benefits to help enable a restful, deeper sleep. The same sleep-enhancing benefits as our Sleep Powder but with different ingredients, a great new taste and all packed into a teabag.
Tea vs. cans: what's different?

All our products are designed to enhance specific moments of your day. Our tea blends provide low amounts of slow release caffeine, or no caffeine at all and are the perfect way to fuel your day. From an Energise in the morning, a Focus at your desk, and our RecoverCalm and Sleep products are perfect for winding down and switching off at the end of the day. We added function to tea with our 9 different hot and cold brew blends.

Our cans are the worlds first 100% natural, sugar free, sweetener free energy drink. These are designed for you to take on the go, and are a great alternative to our blends whenever you want something cold, refreshing and lightly sparkling.

Do you have any samples?

We used to sell sample pouches of Mission, but the feedback was that it didn’t last long enough to give the full experience. We now recommend for customers to try our Build Your Own Box, where you can choose the teas you want to try in handy 10-serving packs!

What is the Build Your Own Box?

Our Build Your Own Box is a great way to try the full range of Mission. Select which teas you like the sound of and give them a try in our handy 10-servings packs! Available as a one off or subscription.

Can I have Mission Blends hot or cold?

You can take any of our blends hot or cold depending on how you're feeling. There may be 1 or 2mg less caffeine in cold brews but this is an insignificant difference. It also takes slightly longer to brew our blends in cold water (around 5mins) and the longer you leave it, the stronger the flavour!

What's the difference between the Lemon & Ginseng can vs the Lime & Yuzu can?

Our Lemon & Ginseng can is designed to be taken throughout the day. It contains vitamins and minerals chosen specifically for their role in supporting your energy levels by reducing tiredness and fatigue. On top of this, we added Ginseng, which has been suggested to support mental activity and concentration. The 20mg of slow release caffeine in this can comes from Green Tea and L-theanine, which provides a calm but alert state of mind. This is the perfect drink to fuel your busy days, and is a refreshing way to achieve sustained energy levels.

Our Lime & Yuzu can is designed to be taken before or during performance. This can features natural electrolytes in the form of Magnesium and Sodium. We also added BCAAs for their ability to contribute towards muscle growth and reducing muscle fatigue. The vitamins and minerals included have a role in resisting mental and physical tiredness, too, so you can feel on top of your game, without any compromise.

Do your teas contain caffeine?

Some but not all. The caffeine we do have is low compared to a coffee (for example, a venti filter coffee from Starbucks in the UK contains 387mg of caffeine) or energy drink. We also use natural sources of caffeine, which release their caffeine over a long period of time, to help achieve sustained energy levels as opposed to the spike and crash you get from coffees and energy drinks. We are the only UK tea + coffee company to pay to test for the amount of caffeine in each blend. Caffeine amounts as follows:

  • Energise: 14mg.
  • Perform 12mg.
  • Hydrate: 12mg.
  • Focus: 2mg.
  • Rise: 123mg.
  • Recover: 0mg.
  • Sleep: 0mg.
  • Calm: 0mg.
Are the teas for work, exercise or relaxing?

All of our caffeine teas are designed to provide a slow, sustainable release of energy which is perfect for working or exercise. Our non-caffeinated blends are specifically made to help you relax and recover. You can find out more information about each blend here!

How much liquid should I use?

It's completely up to you how much liquid you use, it will have the same effect no matter what quantity you choose. To get the same optimal effect from our tea bags, we recommend brewing for 3-5 minutes when having our drinks hot, and for 5-10 mins when having our drinks cold. The longer you leave it, the stronger the flavour. Some of our customers like to take our matchas as a shot with just 50ml of water or milk. Other customers like to use 500-750ml of water when mixing either the tea bags our matchas in our water bottle. When drinking our teas cold, there is no need to use hot water first for the teabags or the matchas (this is what will make the matcha sink to the bottom). Simply just add to a water bottle filled with cold water and shake!

Are the teas batch tested?

All our products are 100% natural and are currently used by over 100 GB athletes. We do not use anything on any WADA or other banned list. If you would like any more information on how we are making progress to certify our products, please get in touch at hello@drink-mission.com.

How do I use Mission in my Marathon training routine?

This answer varies so much from person to person, depending on what your usual intake is during a marathon, how much you sweat, what nutrition strategy is beforehand, too. As a rough guideline for you to try we would recommend:
-Energise when you wake up (I recommend having 2 cups)
-Hydrate 1-2 hours pre marathon and/or Perform (hot)
-Perform during the run (cold)
-Hydrate (potentially a smaller, more ‘shot’ like format) mid run, alongside your cold Perform.

As an additional caveat here, you can use 1-2 tea bags per brew depending on how strong you like the flavour. For some general guidance on quantities, you can get about 3 brews out of 1 bag (and 1 brew per matcha stick) but again it is worth experimenting to find your flavour preferences :). Our in house- nutritionist, Ellie, uses 2x Hydrate sachets in her 500ml bottle for her long runs.

Our new Natural Energy Drinks are perfect to take before runs, for a top up of electrolytes, slow release caffeine and other vitamins/minerals to support performance. Depending on the type and timing of session, they can be used during training, too. For example, if a running based session, the can would not be advised as it is lightly carbonated, so the fizz would be impacted if bouncing around a lot. Similarly, there is 20mg of caffeine in each can, so we would not recommend having this after 3pm, due to the caffeine content and how long it takes for caffeine to leave our system.

How can I take Mission's blends?

1. Hot

Just like traditional tea, Mission tastes delicious as a hot drink. Simply pour boiling water from the kettle onto a Mission tea bag. We recommend adding a splash of cold water in just before (so you don't burn the tea leaves). If you want to, refill your mug with boiling water to enjoy a second (or third!) mug from the same teabag.

2. Cold

We pride ourselves on the fact our teas taste just as good cold as they do hot. If you’re taking one to go, whether that be on a long run or cycle ride - pop a Mission tea bag (we recommend Energise or Perform) in our sports bottle, shake it up and you’re ready to go! For matcha powders, just throw in the powder and shake with water.

3. As a shot

If you want to get the benefits of Mission as quickly as possible, you can pour a small amount of water over the teabag and leave it to steep. When you want to take the shot, simply drink the pre-steeped water to reap all the benefits as you would a long drink.

4. In a smoothie

One of our favourite ways to enjoy our Hydrate tea is to blend it in our post-workout smoothie. It tastes especially delicious with any vanilla flavoured protein and any other hidden greens you want to add!

5. As a latte

Our Hydrate and Sleep powder blends are delicious with hot and cold water, however, our favourite way to take them is as a latte. We add a sachet of either one to hot milk (of your choice) and use a handheld whisk to blend it together, achieving a frothy warm latte. If you don’t have a handheld whisk, blending the hot milk and tea together in a nutribullet / something similar will also give the same effect!

Can I combine your teas?

Yes! We love combining our blends! Each blend offers a different benefit and they actually work synergistically together so it's a fantastic way to maximise the results. Our in-house nutritionist Ellie's favourite combination is a cold brew Perform + Focus. We've also had a number of our community combine Perform with Hydrate. Let us know if you try any other combinations!

Do Mission teabags contain plastic?

No, our teabags are 100% plastic-free! They're made from a biodegradable material called corn starch, a pioneering design that originated in Japan. You can dispose of our teabags in a food waste bin. However, since they require commercial composting, we don't recommend adding them to your home compost. This makes them much more environmentally friendly than traditional plastic-containing teabags!

Can I recycle the packaging?

Absolutely! We're committed to reducing plastic waste and are on a journey to becoming plastic-free. We've recently introduced fully recyclable tea pouches for some of our blends, made from LDPE 4. Just check for the recycling instructions on your pouch, and if it's recyclable, toss it into your recycling bin. We're aiming to have 100% recyclable packaging by 2025. Our cans and the box they come in are already 100% recyclable, so you can recycle them with ease!

However, we still have some work to do this year. Our sachets for Sleep and Hydrate Powders are made from Number 7 plastics, which are traditionally not recyclable. Some curbside programs now accept them, so it's best to check with your local council to see if they can be included in your recycling. Rest assured, we're continuously working on improving our packaging to be more sustainable!

Do any of your teas contain sugar?

Nope! All our blends are sugar free. While they contain zero sugars, they still taste great (we have 5 Great Taste Awards!) and are blended using energy yielding ingredients.

Are Mission teas gluten free and dairy free?

Yes - our teas are hand-blended in a small factory that does handle gluten and dairy, But the upmost care goes into each batch to make sure they remain gluten and dairy free.

Are Mission teas vegan?

Yes, each of our blends are made from 100% plant-based ingredients and vega friendly ingredients.

Are Mission teas 100% natural?

Yes, all our ingredients are 100% natural and are sourced from trees or the ground!

Where does the energy come from?

Our blends are all made using incredible ingredients, that support your body's energy production. So, rather than being the source of energy, our blends contain a balance of many nutritional factors that contribute to supporting energy levels: hydration, slow release caffeine, blood-flow, and vitamins and minerals. Supporting all of these, will help to support your energy levels.

We aim for a more sustained approach to energy and recommend drinking Mission alongside natural sources of fast acting carbs (eg dried fruit, or honey). The ingredients in our blends will work alongside these to provide slow release caffeine and therefore sustained energy, as well as reduce gastrointestinal issues & support blood flow !

Why is there only 20mg of caffeine in your energy drink?

The caffeine sources we use are 100% natural (lots of energy drinks on the market contain artificial sources of caffeine, which is released rapidly into the bloodstream. That means caffeine elicits its stimulatory effects within a short amount of time. Typically, caffeine that is broken down fast, results in a big rush of caffeine blocking our adenosine receptors. The sooner the caffeine binds, the faster it will wear off. When it does wear off, the big influx of adenosine that has been waiting, will quickly bind, leading to a HUGE wave of tiredness.
We use slow-release sources which means that the caffeine binds to adenosine more slowly, and therefore also wears off more slowly, so no big crash. That way you get buzz, for longer and with no nasty crash. By focusing on using the right type of caffeine, we can use the right amount of caffeine too (i.e. move away from the excessive amounts in energy drinks).

Why haven't you included Stevia?

It can’t be metabolised in the gastrointestinal tract, so instead it is metabolised through gut microbiota. As a result, it has been found to have a negative impact on our gut microbiome, including reducing the abundance of ‘health promoting’ gut bacteria. 

Also, stevia consumption has been found to increase acetate and valerate SCFA (short chain fatty acid concentration). This has been implicated in cholesterol synthesis, but this is still being more researched and is currently not reliable.
However, the increased acetate may contribute to increased lipogenesis (fat building) in adipose tissue, and may also inhibit lipolysis (fat reducing).

Can I use Mission instead of gels?

Great q! We understand that as you exercise, fast acting carbs are an essential, which is why people reach for gels. For some, this causes stomach issues, which can also impact muscle cramps and blood flow, not to mention the energy crash after! We aim for a more sustained approach and recommend drinking Mission alongside natural sources of fast acting carbs (eg dried fruit, or honey). The ingredients in our blends will work alongside these to provide slow release caffeine and therefore sustained energy, as well as reduce gastrointestinal issues & support blood flow !

Can I consume your teas if I have a specific medical condition?

All of our teas are 100% natural and therefore there shouldn't be any harm, however no one of the Mission team currently are medically trained and therefore are not in a position to offer any medical advice. We always strongly suggest consulting with your GP or healthcare provider before incorporating any new products into your routine, especially if you have a medical condition or are currently taking medication. Your healthcare provider will be able to provide personalised guidance based on your individual health needs and circumstances. Your well-being is important to us, and we want to ensure that our teas are suitable for you!

Do you ship worldwide?

We currently ship to UK, US, Australia, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands and Switzerland. If you are unable to see your country on our list, unfortunately this means we are not able to ship to your country at this moment!

Can I cancel or make changes to my order?

If you need to make changes to your order, please reach out to us right away at hello@drink-mission.com right away with your full name and order number. However, unfortunately if your order has already been processed by our warehouse we won't be able to amend your order for you, however we will ensure to update your delivery address on our systems so we know in the future where to send your tea! So, the quicker you let us know, the better!

How long does shipping and delivery take?

We're all about getting your goodies to you ASAP! If you placed your order before 3 pm, we'll have yout teas shipped out to you on the very same day!

Now, when it comes to how long it'll take for your package to make its way to you, well, with our standard delivery using Royal Mail or Evri, you're looking at about 2-4 working days on average. But if you're in a rush, we've got you covered with our next-day delivery option through DPD.

Why can’t I track my Royal Mail package?

As your order has been shipped out in a letter envelope tracking with Royal Mail will only reflect change when the order has been sent out and when an delivery has been attempted.

Where can I find my order number?

You can usually find your order number in the confirmation email we sent you right after you made your purchase. If you can't find that email, try checking your order history in your subscription portal if you used one. And if you're still having trouble, just shoot us an email at hello@drink-mission.com, and we'll help you out!

I need to access my account but can’t log in!

Your account activation email will have been sent to you on the day you first subscribed to us but if you can’t find it, pop us an email at hello@drink-mission.com and we can ping it back to you straight away.

How can I amend or cancel my subscription?

You can pause or cancel your subscription by logging into your account via our website. If your email address is showing as not recognised, you will need to create an account with the email address you used to place your subscription order previously. If you have any questions or would like our help in editing your subscription, you can reach out to us at hello@drink-mission.com!

How do I set up a subscription?

1. Select Your Product(s):

  • Go to our website and choose the product you'd like to subscribe to.
  • On each product page, click on the "Subscribe" option.

2. Create an Account:

  • During checkout, create an account if you don't have one.
  • After creating an account, you will receive an account activation email.

3. Activate Your Account:

  • Open the activation email and click on the provided link to activate your account.
  • Once activated, you can manage your subscription.

4. Manage Your Subscription:

  • After account activation, you can edit, pause, or cancel your subscription as needed.

Not at all! You can cancel, skip or change your delivery frequency and date at any time. No commitments.

Can I change the teas in my subscription?

Of course you can!

You can always make swaps up until we start packing your box on the morning after payment. Or if you know exactly what you want for a month, you can go in at any time and swap your blends!

First, make sure you're logged into your Mission account. Then, head over to the 'Manage Subscription' section, where you can change your tea selections or add new blends to your subscription.

How do I manage my subscription?

Of course! First, make sure you're logged into your account on the Mission website. Once logged in, you'll be automatically directed to your account dashboard, where you can manage your billing information, address, and subscription details. In the 'Manage Subscriptions' section, you can adjust the length of your subscription,delay or bring forward your next order (unless it's already shipped), and customise your tea selections. In the 'Address and Payment Details' section, you can change where your next box is delivered to and amend your payment methods. Your account dashboard also lets you view your upcoming, recent and past orders.

What should I do if there is something wrong with my order?

If you receive an incorrect, faulty, or missing item, don't worry! Just reach out to us at hello@drink-mission.com and let us know about the issue. Please include your order number and a brief description of the problem. We'll work quickly to make things right for you, whether that means sending you the correct item, providing a replacement for the faulty one, or issuing a refund if necessary!

What if the product did not work for me?

We couldn't believe more in our products, however if you don't notice a positive impact on your performance after trying Mission for 30 days, we've got your back with a full refund.We will also provide a full refund for any orders which are returned to us in the same condition as when they were dispatched. Can I return my Mission teas after purchasing?

We offer hassle-free returns on our teas, provided they are unopened and in their original packaging. You have a generous return window of 60 days from the date of delivery to initiate the return process. Simply contact us at hello@drink-mission.com, and our team will guide you through the return procedure.

Can I get a refund after purchasing Mission?

We understand that sometimes things don't go as planned, which is why we offer refunds on your tea purchases in the unfortunate event that your package doesn't arrive, gets lost during delivery or if your items arrive faulty.
