Best Sports Nutrition Product of 2019!

Best Sports Nutrition Product of 2019!

We’re only a couple of weeks into the new year, but Athletic Tea Co (now rebranded to MISSION) already has a big mention worth celebrating.  Runner's World magazine just named our Endure matcha the No. 1 product on their 2019 list of 36 Best Sports Nutrition Products — and we’re just a little proud.  The team at Runner’s World tested their way through almost 100 supplements for three months and rated our tea the top pre-run product.

(We have now rebranded our 'Perform: Yerba + Ginsing' blend to 'Endure: Orange + Maca' - Same great product, with a new name and new packaging)

The amount of trial and testing we put into this product was extreme - our Founder, Tom, ran 17 marathons in 10 days whilst trying various blends along the way. This was the ultimate winner and it's great to see Runner's World agree.

Endure: Yerba Mate - Orange + Maca

Ingredients

Ceremonial Grade Japanese Matcha Green Tea: Nobody can stop talking about this powdered form of green tea because when the whole leaf is ingested, the body is able to absorb a much higher proportion of its super ingredients. Matcha is high in L-theanine, an amino acid that helps your body process caffeine differently – giving you a sustained energy boost without any jitters. Matcha is also high in catechins that help burn fat for energy instead of muscle.

Yerba Maté: This South American wonder is known as the ‘Drink of the Gods’. Yerba mate provides a slow release energy boost without the jitters associated with coffee or sugar based drinks, creating a calm and focused athlete. Found to aid digestion and increase cardiovascular oxygenation during athletic performance.

Siberian Ginseng: Discovered in the Eastern corner of Siberia, this plant has been used for centuries to increase energy and improve cognition.

Baobab: Baoab is the fruit of Africa’s ‘Tree of Life’. Containing more antioxidants than any other whole fruit, four times the potassium of bananas and six times the Vitamin C of oranges, baobab has earned its place in superfood folklore.

Pea Protein: Pea protein is low in fat and better in taste than its rivals, making it one of the most popular sources of protein for vegans. We have made the conscious decision to keep our teas free of animal products. Plant power!

Maca: Maca root is exclusively found in the Peruvian mountains, used there for centuries as a performance enhancing boost. It has been proven to increase energy levels and fight stress and fatigue.

How to take

The Yerba + Ginseng Orange Matcha can be consumed hot or cold and is easy to prepare. To take hot, pour a dash of cold water over half a teaspoon of powder and stir into a paste. Then pour over boiling water and occasionally stir. To take iced, add half a teaspoon of powder to 200-500ml of cold water into a bottle and shake.

This powdered tea also goes well with any milk, smoothies, yoghurts, pancakes or oats, so don’t be afraid to toss it in with your favourite food or beverage.

When to take

Pre-workout, mid-workout - cold. Or at the desk - hot.

We are so grateful to be starting off the new year with a new award. We’re looking forward to some big things this year at MISSION, so we hope to keep the good news coming. To give this favourite a try or to make it your new pre-run go-to, check out our shop, here.
